Short version: it all stays on your Mac.
Last updated October 24, 2026 · applies to FlexHub 0.2.0
What FlexHub stores
A snapshot records, for one screen: which apps are open, each window's frame, Space and full-screen state, and the tabs of Safari, Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc windows. It is saved as JSON in ~/Library/Application Support/FlexHub/snapshots.json, with each screen's active snapshot in snapshots.active.json. Settings live in the app's standard macOS preferences, and your license key in the macOS Keychain. All of it stays on this Mac: nothing is synced or uploaded. Delete those files, or the app, and the data is gone.
What FlexHub sends
None of your windows, apps, tabs or snapshots. No analytics, no accounts, no crash reporting. The app makes only two kinds of requests:
- License check with Polar: your license key and this Mac's name when you activate, then the key once a day to confirm it is still valid.
- Update check with GitHub, once a day: it asks for the latest FlexHub release and sends nothing about you.
Permissions
- Accessibility (required): to read window positions and move, minimize, hide and focus windows.
- Automation (asked once per browser): to read and reopen browser tabs through AppleScript. Declining just skips tabs.
- Screen Recording (optional): to capture frames for the Slide and Dissolve animations. Frames stay in memory for the animation and are never written to disk. Without it, both play as Glide.
Buying a license
Payments are handled by Polar, the merchant of record. Polar receives the details you enter at checkout (such as your email and payment method) and emails your license key. Their privacy policy covers that data. This site does not see your card details.
